You and your partner have just arrived in Paris for a romantic (“romantique” in French) getaway. The hotel is booked (“réservé” in French) but are you ready to check in (“enregistrement” in French)? What if the receptionist only speaks French, would you be able to communicate effectively? There will be a lot of admin to do such as payment for the room, dinner reservations, valet service, transfers to the airport on departure, the list goes on… I have prepared for you a podcast at a hotel. A : Bonjour, est-ce que vous avez une réservation ?
Hello, do you have a booking?

B : Oui, nous avons une réservation. Je m’appelle Monsieur Martin.

A : Une chambre pour 2 personnes, est-ce exacte ?
One room for 2 people, it that right?

B : Oui avec un grand lit, pour 3 nuits.
Yes with a double bed, for 3 nights.

A : Le petit déjeuner est compris.
The breakfast is included.

B : Le petit déjeuner est servi à quelle heure ?
At what time is served the breakfast?

A : Le petit déjeuner est servi de 7h à 9h.
The breakfast is served from 7 am to 9 am.

B : Où est-ce que nous pouvons stationner ?
Where can we park the car?

A : Dans le parking de l’hôtel, à l’étage -1. Le prix pour 3 nuits est de 150 euros.
In the hotel car park, at the level -1. The price for 3 nights is 150 euros.

B : Prenez-vous la carte de crédit ?
Do you accept credit card?

A : Oui tout à fait. Merci.
Yes sure. Thank you.

B : Avez-vous un ascenseur ?
Do you have a lift?

A : Allez tout droit puis à gauche.
Go straight on then turn left.

B : Merci beaucoup.
